What is a reservation?
A reservation is used as an intermediate step before an order is created. The reservation behaves the same as an order, with the only difference that the reservation does not affect the physical stock of items. A reservation is actually created to allow end users to place an order themselves. From the overview of the reservations you can see at a glance who has reserved certain articles, and then create a real order after approval. End users themselves should not create "real" orders, but only reservations. It gives you more control over the system.
If your RentMagic environment is linked to a front-end, via an API, for example, all customer orders will end up in the reservations overview.
It is possible to make an order directly from a reservation.
It is also possible to manually make a reservation via the RentMagic backend. You can then convert it to an order at a later stage.
